fcdc is excited to be featured at 20 Points of View: a peek into dance-making on Thursday, April 24th at 6pm.
Hosted by Luna Dance Institute, 20 Points of View: a peek into dance-making (see their Facebook event here) is a day-long free open-studio event featuring 20 local choreographers, each with 30 minutes to perform, rehearse or improvise in Luna’s studio. Dance lovers, individuals curious about the creative process, school groups, families and community members are invited to drop in all day, at any time to see artists in action. We encourage all ages to watch, ask questions, interact and respond as Luna continues to invest in artists and their audiences.
for change dance collective will be sharing an open rehearsal of our newest work in progress, the tentative title of which is Something about fear: a series of beginnings. This new piece will premiere at Dance-A-Rama on April 27th. Come see our collaborative choreographic process in action, and witness a method of dance-making that equally embraces the artistic contributions of each member of our collective. The work itself is beginning to take shape as an intimate exploration of the eccentric fears we approach throughout our individual lives, and how we confront and negotiate the many beginnings we create and encounter.
